A escolha de sua primeira Bookshelf!

Choosing your first Bookshelf Speaker!

To choose your first bookshelf speaker, you need to clearly define its purpose: whether you will use it for stereo listening or for home theater.

Is that enough? No... lol

Let's consider the first scenario, stereo. In this regard, we need to take into account the musical style that predominates in your listening.

  • Jazz
  • Nu Jazz
  • Electronic
  • Trap
  • Folk
  • Indie
  • Rock
  • Bossa Nova

There are many musical genres, but some are more demanding in terms of speaker response. In my opinion, rock is the one that demands the most efficiency from the loudspeaker.

Many believe that a sealed bookshelf speaker provides the best result for this musical genre. However, when you have a high-efficiency and fast-response speaker with a Bass Reflex (ported) cabinet, whether rear or front-ported, the listening pleasure is immense.

Next come Jazz and Nu Jazz, genres that demand a lot from mid and high frequencies, without neglecting the bass, especially with Nu Jazz. Some say that the best aspect of bookshelf speakers should be the mid and high ranges, and that bass can be resolved by adding a subwoofer. In my personal taste, and I emphasize, personal taste... I don't like subwoofers for listening to music in stereo. I think bookshelf speakers can deliver very pleasing results in the bass region. But I in no way condemn those who like a 2.1 setup, especially since musical and personal taste greatly influences this configuration.

This is a much-debated topic, and I will add to this text as information flows and I have time to write.
